Once you’ve adopted a slug, you must care for it.
Slugs require more than food and shelter. Make them feel wanted and secure. Boost their self-confidence. Flatter them. Say things like, “Hi cutie, looking dapper today.” Or, “Looking hot!” Slugs love compliments.
Slugs also appreciate humor. Tell them jokes. “A slug slid into a bar…” is a good start. Practice your delivery in front of a mirror a few times before reciting it to your new pet.
Be aware of your body language. Are you open and welcoming? Slugs are extremely sensitive to humans’ gestures.
Give it treats. Slugs love dog poop – especially a fresh steaming pile.
Treat your slug well and it will respond in kind.
